Role Description

The Co-ordinator will:

  • maintain an open mind and seek solution focused approaches to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes
  • accept and log referrals
  • make contact with all parties to discover the cause of the difficulty
  • provide necessary paperwork to all parties
  • log all support given and actions taken
  • support parties to fill in paperwork where this help is needed
  • arrange a meeting to discuss the concerns
  • explain the process to all parties and ensure that the family or young person is aware that they can bring a friend if needed
  • if needed arrange to host the meeting at our offices
  • facilitate the meeting using mediation techniques
  • prepare the end of meeting notes or agreement and circulate
  • gather all relevant information for reporting quarterly
  • support the gathering, writing and dissemination of information to all partners
  • support the writing and delivery of training agreed with partners

And also

  • support the projects running in the Swansea office with general casework management

Training in Key Working, Mediation and Solution focused techniques will be given

Knowledge:

The post holder will have a very good understanding of education establishments and the pressures both the establishment and the family are under

  • Up to date knowledge of legislation and guidance affecting SNAP Cymru
  • Ability and determination to seek up to date information

Ability in Welsh and other languages, including Bliss, BSL and Total Communication, is desirable for all posts across Wales and Welsh language is essential for some.
