Salary £19,979.00 to £22,132.00 per year, pro rata

21 Hours 9-5 – 3 weekdays by agreement with some evening and weekend work occasionally.  There is no overtime pay but additional hours worked may be authorised as Time off in Lieu by arrangement

This posts requires a very good level of knowledge and experience of Additional Learning Needs in the education system and good access to personal transport

The post holder will give educational information, advice and guidance to families, young people and professionals.  The post holder will attend and get involved in meetings with families, Schools Colleges, Health and the Local Authority giving impartial advice and support.

This post is currently configured to lead in the County Borough of Neath Port Talbot and to also support health related cases in the city and county of Swansea.  However the post holder will also support any of the needs of families within capacity thorough our Wales Wide Telephone Helpline and will work with other Officers to meet needs flexibly.

Much of the work is over the phone or via email but there is also face to face support, meetings support and support to help resolve issues under dispute

This post can be stressful and is always busy.  A good ability to deal with these stresses is essential for the role.

The post holder will understand the various presentations of diversity and be neutral and supportive of all those who access our service

The Post holder, working from the Swansea office, will join a team which leads different projects in the City and County of Swansea

The post holders report on areas of lead responsibility quarterly. (Currently for this post, the LA in NPT, Health in NPT and Health in Swansea) The post holder will be required to work or attend training in other areas where needed. Good computer skills, report writing and data searching are needed.
